I started with a free sample, of course I went back for more! It leaves my skin clean, without any filmy feel. In this relentless heat, I just want CLEAN, and that’s exactly what I get. I’ve always had sensitive skin. When I was a kid my poor mom tried soooo hard to remove allergins. Special soaps and lotions and detergent. Who knew lye soap would’ve done the trick? I have been purchasing this soap since 2023 and it's just soap I recommend to my family. I love the unscented and how it has my skin soft, cleansed, and moisturized with simple ingredients with someone who has many allergies to products. Thank you again Grandma's Handcraft!!

I have used this simple soap ( like my grandmother and I used to make) for many years now. I love the way it cleans without drying my skin. I plan to go on using it. Great soap! I plan to try the laundry soap next time I order.

I have been using it again for years and also for years when my grandma actually made it in large trays. She cut it before it hardened into bars and about 5" x 5" chunks. She put ithose in dish water and grated it with a cheese grater for washing clothes. When store bought soap became full of air and perfime I searchred for the old type of soap and found you.

I bought Grandmas Lye soap because I always trust anything a grandma makes…I am confused because I read so many great reviews although this soap gave me hives all over my arms and legs. I am not allergic to anything or so I thought. Very disappointed and it smells horrible just like lard.

I have been buying this product for years now. I am pleased with the quality and am happy that there are sample sizes available to try.

First I bought the pure lye soap bar. A week and a half in I had better skin on my face and body than I had in years. So I ordered the shampoo and shave bar. Oh my stars! Wonderful! Both bars lather well, have basically no smell, my skin, scalp and hair look great. The shampoo bar didn't make my hair greasy. I also have not used lotion nor hair conditioner since I got these products. I am 69 years old and before these products I was sooooo dry all the time and itchy. Now I feel clean and perfectly moisturized from the top of my head to the tips of my toes!!! I have gotten three friends using the products too. Just wonderful for me. I even ordered more of the soap already to have a bar in the shower and one at the sink. I truly do not think anyone would not benefit from more natural body cleaning products. Just try it!!! Not much to loose since you can return if you don't like and it's so versatile that it will change your life or it did mine!!!!

Love these soaps! Found them first mamy years ago at a quilt shop! When I wanted more the next time I was there, they had no more. So I looked and found you can buy direct! YAY! So have been using grandmas since then, and recently started with the scented. Sure wish there was a cucmber/melon, as that is my favorite (Dove makes a liquid shower gel in that scent, but I don't like Dove soaps as it keaves a residue) .... even candles.

Nothing like lard and lye to keep clean and moisturized. We don't use anything else for our bodies and hands. I get contact dermatitis from most other things, but not traditional, old fashioned lard and lye soap!

As an older gentleman I've been trying all different types of all natural soaps because of my age and skin getting thin. There way over scented with natural oils and causes itching and breakouts. If I use soaps with Shea butter I don't feel clean. It's difficult to rinse without leaveing residue. I will admit this soap doesn't have a pleasant smell, but some body powder takes care if that. This soap cleans and moisturizes your skin and rinses well. I haven't even been using any facial cream after a shower. It doesn't leave my skin with that itchy feeling or like I showered in some type of oil.If you can get past the smell this is definitely the best soap on the market whether you have a skin condition or normal skin.

Found this at my local Roses store. I love this soap. No scent left on the body. A good clean that leaves you feeling clean with no residues. Lasts a very long time - from someone that normally showers twice a day. It's all I've used the last 6 months. Just found the website and see other options. I'm excited to try the Don't Bug Me bar!!

I love that this soap has no superfat (exactly the right amount of lye was used to saponify all the fat, with no leftover fat)! A lot of lye soaps use oils that cause acne, like coconut oil, and leave some of the oil as superfat. This is just pure soap! The skin on my face feels better already.

Love Grandma’s Lye Soap! I have become allergic to chemicals/additives and went on a search for natural soaps with few ingredients that I do not react to. I was able to find two.They are both similar in price and size, but my favorite is Grandma’s Lye because of how smooth and soft my skin is. It also heals my rosacea, which is a real plus! Highly recommend this soap.
