Joy,
I had thought that I emailed Dan with the information, however I see that
the site for the wilkerson family still contains the erroneous
infromation. I do not know much about james except that he was born in Sumner County
TN. He may be the son of Benjamin Wilkerson who was born Va and listed in
the 1850 census of Franklin Co Il. That could possibly make him a relative
of Berry Farmer Wilkerson. However there could be other Wilkersons that
were in franklin co around 1840 that are his parents. All I do know for sure
is that James married Levisa miller in 1846, I have land records, military
records etc that prove that connection. James Wilkerson's civil war
records describe him as dark complected, brown eyes, and black hair. That made
me think there may be Indian. Just a suposition.

tammy
